In order to authenticate your Google email address, you may have to enable Less Secure Apps from within your Google account.
Admin
Your administrator must enable less secure apps for Gmail users before users can connect with FunnelFLARE.
step 1: Log into https://admin.google.com/
step 2: browse to Security->Access and data control -> Less secure apps
step 3: select the organizational unit that your sales staff reside under
step 4: select 'Allow users to manage their access to less secure apps' and 'save'
Non-Admin
The first sign that you might need to do this is if you are sure you are entering the correct email address and password to Google, and it still fails with an incorrect username or password error.
Please note: Enabling less secure apps usually solves authentication problems quickly, but can take up to a day or more to work. This is a Google setting FunnelFLARE has no control over.
Go to https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps
Turn the 'Allow less secure apps' option to 'ON' as shown below. Make sure you are logged into the correct Google account when doing this. If you have multiple Google accounts you might be enabling the wrong one.
If you do NOT see the option to turn less secure apps on, then you will need to speak to your Google account administrator on your team. They will have to enable this permission for you.
After enabling Less Secure Apps if you are still getting a username and password error then you will need to do the following:
1 - Check if you are using Two Factor Authentication on you Google account. If you are, please see this article: https://engage.funnelflare.io/hc/en-us/articles/360046513374-Authenticating-GSuite-Email-With-Two-Factor-Authentication
2 - Wait approximately 1 day and try authenticating again as the Less Secure Apps option can take time to truly become enabled.
